Shelby
Shelby has been teaching in Jefferson County for over 20 years and is also a product of Jefferson County Public Schools. Shelby holds two Master's degrees: a degree in Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Northern Colorado and a degree from Western Governors University in Curriculum and Design. Shelby is trained in Orton Gillingham, Fundations phonics and Into Reading. Teaching literacy is her passion, although she very much enjoys working with students in math, as well. Shelby has worked with a variety of students from all different backgrounds and academic needs. Shelby is most proud of the number of students who have high academic growth throughout the year and meet end-of-the-year grade level expectations and standards at the end of the school year. Shelby uses authentic learning tasks while targeting essential skills needed to be successful readers, writers and mathematicians. Shelby lives in Lakewood and loves running, camping, playing games and being outdoors with her boys.
